Daily doodles #15

Mid-terms have been giving me doodle withdrawal. Its not healthy. So I finally got back to doodling today:

I was scanning these from a small-ish notepad so the pictures are a bit weird.

Hey look at that! a non landscape!

That didn't last long....

Nothing overly exiting today. just pen sketches. But magical facebook postings yesterday led me to finding this: http://mrdoob.com/projects/harmony/#sketchy

Daily doodles #14

So missed the past two days due to a combination of not having time to doodle and laziness. I'm back for today though. Also for my midterm in AP art we had to show our sketchbook so I ended up finding some more old sketches to toss in here to make up for the past to days.
_____________________________

So these first two are from today's Painting II midterm. we had to do stuff in an 80min time slot. Although I paint fast, I don't go that fast so its unfinished. Also the photograph of the painting (on the left if you can't tell) is taken with a camera phone so the quality is even worse than usual.

This next one is an oil painting landscape that I'm working on and have posted some progress pictures of. the only part that is finished are the rocks.

Blogspot makes it hard to drag pictures around so I'm just giving up with trying to move these around and continuing with the pictures however they already are. this is a sketch for a project in humanities class based around the Iliad. the sketch was finished in about 5 minutes.

This over here is the finished project with my partner in crime Chris Maclean peeking out from behind it.

And now to journey all the way back to 2009...drawing on Bus E... Good times

Monochromatic landscape painting on cardboard. Kind of a mistake combining multiple materials (bad brushes, old paint, cardboard canvas) to make things infinitely harder for myself, but we all need to learn some how.
another 2009 flashback. More fantasy stuff from way back then.

and random sketch.

There was something I meant to add on to this but right now I can't remember for the life of me what it was so I guess thats not happening. Anyway have a nice 50 degree winter day. god bless global warming. From a running perspenctive anyway. from a polar bear perspective not so much.

Daily Doodles #13

I finished my first linoleum cut/print thing. Print #1 had too much ink:

Print #2 had not enough

Print #3 was juuuusssttttt right. almost.

And a random doodle of my gatorade bottle.

and 7/12 concentration sketches. Still a while to go. But I have till may to finish.

Daily Doodles #12

Well, Monday was crappier than usual. anyway here's some doodles.

This ones an old stippling piece. I found a stack of things while cleaning my room as part of procrastinating other things.

More from the landscape I was working on.

Another mis-rotated sketch. This one for a linoleum print

And a quick Graffiti-esque tag. on the right is upside down.

The Bi-polar Sun.

The only benefit to a crappy monday. Crappy Day = Good painting later

 5 Stages of grief:

This last section is the collage from posting these on facebook. It looked cool and was vaguely reminiscent of some other work that I saw over the summer. It's weird how the 2 on the right match up.

Anyway, I'm done for tonight. Cheer's to making it through and staying sane for the remainder of the week.

Sketchbook A

So I was looking for some more stuff to post today and decided to post one of the sketchbooks I've filled up recently. Rather than post the entire 100 pages of it, I realized nobody actually wanted to see the bad stuff and I didn't really feel like scanning it all. So instead I just have around 15(?) highlights from it. i don't quite remember if IO've posted any of these so sorry if you've seen them already.
---------------------

AP Art summer work: draw something with overlapping organic and inorganic shapes. not the most interesting thing in the world, but it reminded me why I dislike colored pencils for finished-ish pieces.

Another AP art summer piece. Drawing silverware with pencil.

This one was never finished, but I had lots of positive responses when people were looking through the physical book.

This one is based on a photo that showed up on my facebook news feed a while ago. Regrettably i can't remember who it was so sorry to who ever I stole this concept from.

Abstract sketch #1

Abstract sketch #2

Painting 2 assignment. Animate inanimate object. Didn't end up using this one.

Sketch based on a menorah.

Sketch for my first prismacolor piece. Jelly fish with a painting. the finished version can be found in one of my earlier posts, coincidentally titled working with prismacolors

Sketch for Ap art concentration. Still in progress at the moment. A midway point for it is in my previous abstract post.

Another Prismacolor sketch for a Lilly-pad city assignment (again for painting 2)  The finished version is also in the Prismacolor post.

Reflective mirror sketch.

Yet another prismacolor sketch (I was kind of in a marker frenzy towards the end of this book)

And a sketch of my grandparents house.

So there's the highlights from this sketchbook.
I finally finished my AP art breadth section(12 pieces to show different styles and mediums...ect. basically show all the different things you can do) and for our midterm we have to fill out critique forms about the pieces. If any one would be so kind as to take a look at the pictures here http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2838270409560.129664.1643256424&type=1&l=23ed23459b and answer and of the questions listed there for any of the photos, that would be greatly appreciated.
